10 Things I Like in BSU-OU

1.      Weather/Environment

One of the best things that a student wants about their school is the environment. A place where they can learn and at the same time relax with the stressful things that school can give them. Aside from being a well-known school for producing globally competitive graduates, BSU-OU is not only a place where you can acquire knowledge but also lets you experience the beauty of Benguet. Who can resist the beautiful, clean and peaceful place of Benguet? Well, as for me, I just can’t.

2.      Theses and Dissertations

As you enter the premises of BSU-OU, one of the things that you can see is the wide collection of different theses and dissertations produced by their own graduates. These books are open for students who wants to search additional information regarding their own thesis or for other educational purposes. These theses and dissertations serve as a challenge for us to pursue this course so our own thesis will also be part of BSU-OU’s library of graduate studies.

3.      Clerks and Assistant Desks

The clerks at BSU-OU are very responsive and very helpful in every inquiry and everything that you ask them. They provide every students anything that they need to know like if the books are already available, if the professors are not around, if the professors left the activities that we need to answer and any other school related problems. They attend to our inquiries very calmly and as fast and accurate as they can.

4.      Professors

The highly-recognized and very competent professors of BSU-OU are the main reason that made the school very prestigious and highly-recognized all around the Philippines. They taught, us, students, with all the knowledge that they obtain when they are still studying. They are sharing their skills and expertise very enthusiastic and they serve as a role model for us to finish our master’s degree and be like one of them.

5.      Classmates

Being able to meet other professionals and being able to share with them our own experiences is one of the best things that one can get in studying at BSU-OU. You will be able to mingle with other people with different fields of expertise makes studying more enjoyable. Your classmates are the ones who will help you and be with you with your journey all throughout your master’s degree life. You will be friends not only inside the class but also outside the four corners of the room.

6.      Friends

One of the reasons why I choose to study at BSU-OU aside from its prestige in making world-class graduates, my co-teachers, who are also my friends and past professors, chose to study here. Because of this, I was able to know them more. We are able to share our strengths and weaknesses and even help us with our problems. Our friendship grows deeper and we already have each other’s backs whatever happens.

7.      Rooms

The rooms at BSU-OU is not the typical type of classroom. The classrooms here don’t have electric fans and even air-conditioned because of the cold weather that the province has. It is energy-efficient and can help the school to conserve energy. Even if the rooms are a bit old and a bit small, it is still good because it can still accommodate all of their students and can even provide us with the latest gadgets that we can use for educational purposes.

8.      The BSU-OU’s sign board

Seeing the sign board of BSU-OU makes me ask a question, “Why is it so simple?” then after being able to attend and listen about the history and goals of the school, I already understand its context. Making it simple does not mean that the school cannot offer something special but rather, it can offer you the best. It is really true that big things come in small packages.

9.      Bulletin Boards

The bulletin board that can give us information regarding school-related stuff. The bulletin boards at BSU-OU are up-to-date and very informative. Any information that we need to know are already posted on the boards. All the subjects that are available to take, the schedules for our monthly classes and other announcements that we can must know.

10.  Graduate School Office

The graduate school office will be our second home as we take our master’s degree courses. The office provides us everything that we need from the classroom, to books, teachers, and even the latest technological advancement that we use for our discussions. This office will be the witness all of our sweat, blood and sacrifices that we will offer in order to finish the course that we take.
